Prefatory remarks

My life seems to have divided itself into three stages: growing up, practicing law, and painting and writing. Through all have run two threads: my preoccupation with drawing and my wife, Anna. Anna has been the mainstay, and all would certainly have played out differently — less successfully, and less happily for me — without her.

I have been drawing from early childhood, hence the painting, and this page.
